![]() On the devblog it's claimed that 5 months of their time was spent trying to get iCloud to work. I wonder if that 18 months includes the 3 months they went over their previously stated release date and never told anyone anything more than platitudes about what they would fix in Ulysses 2 - and have apparently given up on fixing and instead decided to rewrite the program. Ulysses III is the culmination of 18 months of hard work, sweat and tears, built upon a 10 years’ experience creating writers’ software for the Mac and iOS. This is one of the real kickers, from their site, It seems that The Soulmen have been completely ignoring their own forums where people have written in detail, at great length, what features they'd like to have and what features and functions of Ulysses 2 need to be fixed. I also keep seeing "drop us a line" or "send us feedback" in the FAQ concerning features that other writing programs have. Is the only function I've been waiting for, syncing to Daedalus, worth $20? I don't know. ![]() It's going to be $42? I paid $18 for Ulysses 2, and it apparently has functions that Ulysses 3 doesn't. SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY PRICE: 50% OFF for the first week. $20.99 on the AU store, and in big bold stars it says, In fact, Ulysses III doesn't even have projects (yet). ![]() You can't open Ulysses 2 projects in Ulysses III. What they've actually done is scrapped version 2 entirely (no longer available) and replaced it with a whole new, less functional, and more expensive program that just happens to have a similar name. Ulysses 3 doesn't have it? And why should I "stay tuned"? I stayed tuned for a couple of months, using version 2 and hoping that version 3 would fix the deficiencies and small problems of 2. I'm just reading through the Ulysses 3 FAQ and one of the first things I see is,ĮPub support is forthcoming, stay tuned for that one. The ePub export however is broken and incomplete, and my comments and questions about it on the forums seem to have mysteriously disappeared - I used no profanity and was very polite when I asked why there was formatting issues related to chapters and sections, and no ability to insert my own CSS sheet for formatting. I bought Daedalus a little while back because out of all the writing programs on the iPad, it was the one that could do ePub export. The Soulmen are great at upselling the sizzle but their cooking, quite frankly, sucks. As you can tell, I'm pretty disappointed. Cut and paste of my comment in r/writing.
